About Super-Glide

Overwhelming Acceptance of Synthetic Ice!
Over 1 Million public skaters have enjoyed the sensation of Super-Glide™. Since December 1, 1999 over 50 facilities have been completed in areas including West Virginia, Miami, Caracas-Venezuela, Guatemala City-Guatemala, Texas, Connecticut, New Jersey, Kansas, Vermont, New Hampshire, the Czech Republic, and many more. No matter where we put down Super-Glide™ the response is spectacular!

Superior to Other Synthetic Ice Products
Far superior to previous artificial ice compounds, Super-Glide™ offers less resistance, creating a skating experience almost identical to real ice. In the past, synthetic ice skating rinks required the liberal application of silicone to the artificial ice surface creating a wet, oily surface which attracted dirt and other contaminants. These could contribute to a reduction in glide and a chattering effect that was a result of dry spots.

With the Super-Glide™ product the lubrication comes from within the chemical make-up of the product itself. Also, Super-Glide™ has a solid core, and is not just a thin layer of product laminated to a wood core as most of our competitors products are. No matter how much use you give your Super-Glide™ skating surface you will never cut down through a top layer to something that isn't slippery. Super-Glide™ is slippery through and through.

What is it?

Super-Glide™ is a polymer with the correct density and
solutions added to allow the blade to glide smoothly.

Why is it great for training?

Super-Glide™ has slightly more resistance than ice, allowing the
student to gain confidence quicker.

Figure Skating:
All figure skating elements can be accomplished:
* Especially good for increasing speed & endurance.
* Rapidly develop better spins (more precise positions needed).
* Edge and toe jumps (ex. It teaches the skater to place the toe pick, not pound the blade into the ice).

Hockey:
* Practice stick handling and gain strength and endurance in your own backyard.
* Great for goalie training.
* Now being used by NHL goalie trainers.

Benefits
* Train on your own time schedule
* Reduce trips to the rink
*Save money on rising open skate or shoot & skate cost
* Increase your overall skating ability.

Even Better with Super-Glide™ Skate Enhancer!

Since the 50's, silicone has been used to enhance the glide characteristics for Synthetic Ice Surfaces (Artificial Ice Surfaces). While it works, it goes on wet and stays wet, and this causes a buildup of contaminants (dirt) on the skating surface. It's messy and needs to be applied to the whole surface of the rink to work effectively. Through advanced chemical science we have been able to develop a new solution, called Super-Glide™ Skate Enhancer, that is applied to the skate blade to decrease friction even more and give the Super-Glide™ surface a true "skate like ice" glide. The surface is still dry after applying unlike the old style silicone application, which is oily to the touch. Yet another way in which Super-Glide™ out performs the competition!
